Having been exposed and trained with some of the best potters in the US, she has created her own unique style of work which has a different twist to how clay is often viewed. Inspired by nature, her work ranges from large pieces of wall art of ceramic and wood, table top pieces, large platters, vases to sculptures. Using driftwood, walnut wood and others, which is then cut by hand and oiled to bring out its natural colour and variation, she uses glazed porcelain and stoneware on it to make these pieces come alive.
Manisha has established Studio 2700 (Insta handle – @manishagopinath), which is a ceramic studio specializing in exclusive handmade artifacts. Established in 2018 at Whitefield, Bangalore, it features the work of Manisha in different spheres. Porcelain and stoneware hand crafted and shaped into leaves, flowers, birds and different aspects of nature juxtaposed with glass and wood is this studio’s speciality.
