Maruti in its bid to give a stiff competition to the likes of new Hyundai Elite i20 and Ford Figo is coming out with a new premium hatchback, Suzuki YRA. The new premium hatchback which in all possibility is going to be positioned above Swift would come with the same 1.2 litre K-series petrol and 1.3- litre DdiS diesel engine option. Suzuki YRA which would be launched across the world will get 1.4- litre petrol engine for the European market.
The new Suzuki YRA appears to have a European design based on the leaked pictures in various media. Though the headlamp design is similar to that of the new Swift, the fron grills are more like that of Nissan Sunny. The new premium hatchback is set to have chrome grab door handles and its mirrors are placed on the waistline. YRA which comes with side indicators for mirrors also has got the following features:
- Rear Wiper
- De Fogger
- Five spoke alloy wheels
- Floating roof design
- Large rear bumpers
- Hatch like boot with largest boot space
Suzuki YRA which has looks of Volkswagen Polo and the new i20 has got a stylish tail lamp and is a sub 4 metre vehicle. The car is undergoing tests in India and other global markets and the official name of YRA is yet to be revealed.
