Masks on; Kerala with new Covid rules

As we all know, Kerala is one of the leading states on the scale of the high number of covid cases and the test positivity rate, the state, and the government has imposed new covid rules after the meeting conducted by the government officials on Thursday. 

The state has decided not to go to a complete lockdown as it will badly affect the economy and they put forward the restrictions considering the state of the economy in the first place. The schools till classes 9th std have been shut down and now the rest of the classes will be closed. 

10th,11th, and 12th Std classes have been shifted into online. The same is not implied to the colleges as of now and all the exams whose dates have been published have been decided to be conducted.

The colleges and the students must follow the rules and regulations specifically put forward by the government during the examinations. 

The next two Sundays that is January 23, 2022, and January 30, 2022, will be working on strict rules and regulations. Malls and theatres won’t be open that day and only people who have important needs shall be allowed to get out from the houses. 

The shops which are required to complete the basic needs of a person will be open on both the days and high curfew will be implied on the state both morning and night and if people disobey that they will be imposed with a good amount of fine. 

The meeting was conducted between the Cheif Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Health Minister Veena George, and other ministers and they put forward an effective system of rules and regulations to the state allowing the people to breathe during this third wave of Covid-19.

The government has also put forward to strictly follow the Covid-19 protocols such as wearing masks, frequently sanitizing, and maintaining social distancing. The state has also started the vaccination for children between the age group of 15-18 ensuring their safety. 

The meeting also allowed the working women who have children below the age of 2, pregnant women, and people who have health issues such as low immunity to work from home.

On the other days, the malls and all the retail shops must impose restrictions by themselves to control the number of people in the shop as well as the number of covid cases. If any shop is seen with overcrowding of people, the police will take necessary actions. 

According to the latest reports the state has 46,000 cases of Covid and Omicron reported in the state with the highest test positivity rate count of 40.06%.
