September 9, 2014: On Monday, leading homegrown mobile handset manufacturer Micromax announced its latest flagship smartphone called Micromax Canvas Nitro A310. The handset has been priced at Rs 12,990 and it is available exclusively via the e-commerce portal Snapdeal.

Detailing on its technical specifications, the Micromax Canvas Nitro A310 is given a standard display that is a part of several mid-rangers. Well, it is a 5 inch IPS HD panel that has a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The screen features an anti-fingerprint oleophobic coating, but it lacks the scratch resistant Gorilla Glass 3 protective layer that is a part of many entry-level and mid-range offerings these days.

In terms of raw hardware, the Micromax smartphone employs the usual octa-core 1.7 GHz MediaTek MT6592 processor paired with 700 MHz Mali 450 graphics unit and 2 GB of RAM to take charge of the graphics and multi-tasking requirements of the users. The Micromax Canvas Nitro A310 bundles 8 GB of native storage space that can be extended externally up to 32 GB with the help of an expansion card.

Running on Android 4.4 KitKat, the Micromax flagship is fitted with a 13 MP Sony IMX135 CMOS sensor at its rear with LED flash, Largan 5P 28mm lens and f/2.2 aperture. At the front, the device uses a 5 MP front-facing camera with OmniVision OV5648 sensor, 75 degree wide viewing angle lens that will handle clicking selfies with a wider frame.

Apart from this combination of high-end cameras at its front and rear, the Micromax Canvas Nitro A310 is packed with a slew of camera oriented features including a Camera Widget that provides access to Refocus, Stable Shoot and more directly from the device’s home screen. Also, users can click snaps using either of these cameras by pressing the volume rocker.

Connectivity wise, the new smartphone comes with the standard set of traits such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and dual SIM functionality. Under its hood, there is a 2,500 mAh battery that should be sufficient to provide a backup of a day under moderate usage.

On the software side, the Android 4.4 KitKat based Micromax Canvas Nitro A310 arrives with Blinkscreen (a new lock screen), Smart Gestures, Smart Alerts, Quicklook home screen with weather, Facebook and Twitter feeds and Trending apps widgets. The handset comes in Mesmerizing Blue and Pristine White color variants.
