MINI India launched a new special edition MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition in the region at a cost of Rs 46.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India).Just 15 units of the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition for India are available as a Fully Built-up Unit (CBU). By adding authentic racetrack flair to the lane, the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Version pays tribute to the MINI John Cooper Works GP. The limited-edition puts together racing-inspired looks with the finest quality fabrics and visual enhancements.
The exterior of the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Version draws influence from the British brand’s motorsports history. Exterior improvements such as racing grey metallic exterior colour, contrasting melting silver metallic roof, mirror caps, and John Cooper Work’s rear spoiler are included in the limited edition. The 18-in two-tone alloys come with GP labelled wheel hub caps, while the front & rear are apart of the piano black exterior kit with the exterior surrounds, inner parts of headlights & rear lights, door handles, fuel filler cover, front grille surround and MINI logo. Carbon fibre highlights the side scuttles and air intake trim.
The interior of the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Version carries forward the tradition of racing with Dinamica leather sports seats with GP badges. The GP logo is also highlighted for the driver and front passenger on the floor mats, while red stitching is finished on both the front and back mats. The steering wheel is made with red contrast stitching in ‘Walknappa’ leather. With unique GP badges, the 3D-printed paddle shifts are unique to this limited edition. The key earns a keycap inspired by the 3D printed GP. In the cabin, the panorama sunroof allows sufficient quantities of natural light and fresh air.
With a 6.5-inch circular central instrument panel surrounded by an LED ring, the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Version is feature-laden. Apple CarPlay, MINI navigation system, Radio MINI visual boost with touch function, USB interface and Harman Kardon audio system are the regular infotainment features, with 12 speakers and an 8-channel digital amplifier. Front and passenger airbags, brake assist, 3-point seat belts, dynamic stability control, crash sensor, anti-lock braking system, corner brake control and run-flat warning are standard safety devices.
The MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Version comes with a 231bhp and 320Nm 4-cylinder TwinPower turbo engine, paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission of 2.0 litres. In 6.1seconds, the limited-edition enhances from 0-100kmph.
