Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML) are way too common these days. According to researchers almost 77% of the electronic devices we encounter today have AI built into them, for example, Amazon’s Alexa, Google Home, Netflix, etc.

Many new trends are emerging due to the surge in the demand for such technologies. Molly and Angel are the two great examples of AI-Driven power nurses. Some of the Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning trends likely to see in the year 2021 are:

Increasing use of AI and ML

Many organizations have incorporated AI, yet they fully don’t understand these technologies. Many companies claiming to be AI start-up are not even using the technology. One of the main reasons is the lack of people who are skilled to efficiently implement these technologies. There is a high need to hire people with the right skill.

Transparency trend in AI

Even though systems are smarter and error-free than humans, no one wants to trust the decisions made by a system that they don’t understand. AI needs to be deployed more transparently so that it is understood more defined. When it is transparent more professionals who are into programming and developing will become more condemning.

Data Security and Regulation

Data is a more valuable resource now. The things which are more valuable need more security. With more and more data the risk also gets bigger. Regulations like GDPR and CCPA have made privacy violation costly. In 2019, British Airways and Marriott International were fined $300M against GDPR violation. In the coming years, the demand for data scientists and data analytics is going to high.

The overlap between IoT and AI

Both AI and IoT are independently important. When these two are combined the scope increases giving better opportunities. IoT act as a digital nervous system and AI act as the brain. While AI derives data the IoT makes it look more intelligent. So when these two works combine it will an amazing result. According to Gartner, more than 80% of the businesses will incorporate AI and IoT into their activities.

So we can say that the scope of software developers and embedded engineers increase in the coming years.

Augmented Intelligence

Augmented Intelligence is a refreshing trend today. It brings together human and technology. According to Gartner, by the year 2023, AI-augmented automation will be incorporated in almost 40 percent of operations and infrastructure teams. So we can say that AI engineers, AI/ML skilled employees do have higher opportunities for the coming years.
