The most trusted brands in 2015 results are out. Keeping a track of the brand’s relationship with its customers is very tough. Some time, it will be rainbows, and roses making things happy, and the other day it might be tragic. Just consider the case of Maggi. Despite being one of the biggest brands in the country, the controversy stormed the brand all over with harmful levels of lead content. The MSG in Maggi tastemakers received the fame of the 2 minute instant noodles brand.
In the last year, Maggi was commemorating its standing in many Indian consumers’ hearts and minds. The much-loved brand that brings all types of hostel, childhood and travel memories entered into the Top 5 Most Trusted Brands for the very first tie in the last year though it was placed at the end. However, in the 2015 edition of the survey, Brand Equity’s Most Trusted Brands, Maggi plunged to the 95th position. The finding of the poll makes it evident that if one is looking for the relationship status of Indian brands, forget the social networking firm Facebook as it does not beyond BE’s Most Trusted Brands.
The Swiss manufacturer of Maggi, Nestle claims that the instant noodles brand is safe with ad films showing Indian mothers to win back their trust. But, the brand has to wait till the next edition of the Most Trusted Brands to tell is its comeback is successful. It has to crawl up the trust and faith ladder slowly.
When it comes to the brands that are a part of the Most Trusted Brands, Colgate has retained its position for four years being the dominator of all brands across categories. Next, Tata Salt is in the second position from the 16th position in 2014. Then, are brands such as Dove and Idea that have taken big leaps. Dove has propelled to the 4th position from the 30th position, and Idea occupied the 11th position.
