“We believe in prioritising wellness as a fundamental aspect of our culture. According to reports, approximately 62% of Indian employees face work-related stress and burnout, which is three times higher than the global average of 20 per cent. Further, the 2023 Great Places to Work assessment in India indicates that one in four employees feels unable to discuss stress, anxiety, or depression for fear of being judged or deemed unfit for greater responsibilities, which can hinder their career advancement. Although mental health benefits are increasingly available in workplaces, their low utilisation rates highlight the need for a more structured support system. It is essential to encourage the use of these services and foster a culture of compassionate leadership. Given that employees spend a significant portion of their time at work, it’s vital to ensure that the workplace contributes positively to their overall well-being.

Promoting inclusivity and accessibility in well-being initiatives is essential. At ZebPay, we’ve adopted various strategies to effectively meet these requirements. For example, we provide paternity leave in addition to maternity leave and extend these benefits to adoptive parents. We also offer menstrual leave for female employees to recognise their need for rest during this time. We recently launched ZEBCARE, a comprehensive 360° wellness program designed to empower employees to prioritise their physical and mental health, including free access to therapy and counselling.

By fostering a culture of compassion and inclusivity, companies can empower a diverse workforce to thrive, ensuring that well-being is not merely an initiative but an integral part of organisational ethos.”
