Sougata Basu is an Indian fintech entrepreneur and the Founder of CashRich, an innovative investment app transforming wealth management through cutting-edge technology. With over two decades of experience in the finance industry, Sougata has a proven track record in managing substantial investment portfolios and spearheading financial innovation.
Prior to establishing CashRich, Sougata managed investments exceeding ₹12,000 crore for the Tata Steel Group at Bombay House, Mumbai. Earlier, as an Investment Consultant with UBS in Boston, he managed portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, delivering personalized financial solutions.
An engineer by training, Sougata graduated from the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), MESRA, India. He furthered his education in the United States, attending the dual-degree MS-MBA program at Boston University School of Management, where he was awarded three prestigious scholarships. The dual degree comprised an MBA in Finance and an MS in Information Systems. He is also a CFA Charterholder from CFA Institute, USA.
Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, Sougata is deeply invested in advancing the fintech ecosystem in India. He serves as an Executive Committee Member of the India FinTech Forum, a non-profit organization for the fintech community in India with nearly 40,000 members. Passionate about financial education, he founded the Fintech Olympiad, a pioneering initiative aimed at enhancing financial literacy and digital fluency among the youth, preparing the next generation for a financially inclusive future.
