MTV celebrates the ‘Asli Roadie’ – donates 1000 raincoats.

On the eve of the monsoon season, youth entertainment channel MTV, which is part of Viacom18’s Youth, Music, and English Entertainment (YME) cluster, donated 1000 raincoats to Mumbai Police. The initiative honors the spirit of the ‘Asli Roadie,’ as personified by the Mumbai Police while keeping the City of Dreams free of challenges such as the rainy season. As the grand finale of MTV Roadies Journey in South Africa, India’s most popular genre-defining adventure reality series, approaches, the company recognized the Mumbai Police’s exemplary adherence to the Roadie code of unwavering resolve, guts, and camaraderie in protecting its inhabitants.

Anshul Ailawadi, Viacom18’s Head of Youth, Music, and English Entertainment gave the raincoats to the Mumbai Police and stated, “An Asli Roadie is not just defined by adventure, but also a spirit of compassion and camaraderie to take everyone along on the ride. “Every day, Mumbai Police exemplifies this. This is our token of gratitude for their unwavering commitment to keeping the city safe as they brave the monsoons once more.”

Sonu Sood, a Bollywood actor and philanthropist who hosts the MTV show ‘Roadies Journey to South Africa,’ is known for going out of his way to help others Sonu Sood, a celebrity, philanthropist, and host of MTV Roadies, said, “I have the utmost regard for our Mumbai Police and appreciate them for their incredible hard work, which keeps our regular life secure. – Journey in South Africa. MTV Roadies’ donation of a thousand raincoats is our way of saluting them and better equipping them for their duties.”

The Yashlok Welfare Foundation and MTV have partnered to deliver high-quality protective raincoats, which are made by marginalized groups of society like women, rural dwellers, and persons with disabilities. The production of these reflective jackets for the Mumbai Police Department also provides a sustainable source of income for this community. The raincoats are also environmentally friendly because they are made of recycled plastic.
