Nov 20, 2012: Global real estate consultants Cushman & Wakefield have come out in their report titled ‘Main Streets across the world’ that Mumbai has recorded the highest retail rental growth globally. The rental in prime properties in Mumbai has increased by 75% over last year and Colaba Causeway has recorded the highest rental. The increase in rental has been observed due to the strong demand in retail and the continuous preference of retailers for high street properties. The other cities which figure in the top 10 are, Park Street in Kolkata which has been placed at the fifth spot with 53.8% growth and Khader Niwaz Khan Road in Chennai at 10th spot with 36.7% growth in rentals. Khan Market in New Delhi has been ranked 26th among the most expensive places in the world and it has recorded an increase of 2% in rentals compared to last year.
