Bangalore, February 28, 2023: Muthoot Finance Ltd – India’s Largest Gold Loan NBFC has received the coveted CSR Excellence Award 2022 under Innovation and Corporate Leadership in Healthcare category for their CSR initiative – ‘Cup of Life’, launched in August 2022 in Kochi, Kerala. On behalf of the company, Shri. George M George – Deputy Managing Director, Muthoot Finance received the award from Shri. Eknath Shinde – Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra during the 5th Edition of CSR Journal Excellence Awards 2022 held at National Stock Exchange (NSE), in BKC, Mumbai.
The Cup of Life campaign was aimed at spreading awareness around the taboo of menstrual health at the grass root level. Through this campaign, Muthoot Finance was able to successfully deliver 1 Lakh and one menstrual cups for free to the women of Kochi within a span of just 24 hours.
Addressing the audience at the event, Shri. Eknath Shinde – Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra said, “Any kind of social work should be done from the heart. It is a big thing to identify those people who need help and support. The corporate companies which are present here today, you all are doing a great job by extending your help and support to those who need it the most. It is only possible to share their pain, if you feel it. I would like to congratulate all the winners this evening for your amazing social work. It is a huge responsibility for the jury members also to select the winners. Those who have received the award, their responsibility has increased because you will now inspire more people to come forward and do good work which in turn will benefit the society. There is no bigger religion than helping others.”
