Aug 22, 2012: Ashok Leyland plans to roll out the much awaited electromically managed “Neptune Engine” for U-trucks this year. The company has developed the engines with technical assistance from an Austrian powertrain and combustion expert design house and has completed over three lakh km field trials.
Company claims that the new Neptune engines are entirely CRS electronic and power ranges from 160 to 380 HP. According to the company sources, Neptune engines offers lower operating costs, longer life and better comfort. The Chennai based company is targeting 1.10 lakhs units sales this fiscal year.
