The #VickKatwedding celebrity wedding has been trending in India for while now. To make all the singles feel less lonely, Netflix India has come up with a recreated episode of Friends.

The sitcom titled Sahelis stars Srishti Dixit, Kusha Kapila, and Dolly Singh — social media influencers and real-life friends. They discuss their difficulty to find the right guy and how the wedding season mode has caught people during the end of this year. Of course, it’s because of Katrina-Vicky wedding, which is all over the internet.

The lead female characters Monica, Rachel and Phoebe borrow wedding gowns to feel better about the absence of romance in the original season of the American sitcoms’ season 4, episode 20.

Joshua, who is Rachels’ date comes over to their place to see her in the wedding dress. He mistakes the dress for Rachels’ obsession with marriage and leaves the place in a hurry.

Sanket Mehta, another popular social media influencer plays the role of Joshua in Sahelis.

The Indian version remakes this episode with lehengas instead of gowns. The video has garnered praise for making the Indian netizens realise that one doesn’t really need to get “married” to have a wedding but need friends who can click good pictures with your lehengas on.

Some even suggested making it a series. Surely, celebrity weddings are making young Indians dream about their weddings, but for just the desiness, dress-ups and mehndi. The millennials especially the ones who grew up watching movies starring Katrina Kaif are nostalgic and reminded of how fast time is passing by.

Srishti Dixit, Kusha Kapila and Dolly Singh are well-known for their Netflix show, Behensplaining. It is a commentary show on popular movies and series.

The trio introduces the desi side to international content such as Stranger Things, Bridgerton, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, as well as Bollywood movies such as Pink, Jab We Met, and so on.

The female perspectives give the viewers a fresh lens from which to observe the films. Also, short episodes on the millennial life in India are another type of content that they do.
