In an exclusive five-year agreement, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) and Dream Sports have teamed up to create the first-ever complete suite of digital fan interaction solutions for cricket.

Through Dream Sports’ portfolio, the alliance will establish distinctive, fan-focused channels for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), gaming, and merchandise.

As its official fantasy sports provider, NZC has worked with Dream Sports’ leading brand Dream11 since 2019. The rise in fan participation over time—including Dream11’s title sponsorship of the Dream11 Super Smash—has prompted the new comprehensive relationship with Dream Sports, which will enable it to reach its full potential. This entry point to Dream Sports’ 140 million users in India will be crucial in developing a successful suite for NZC, including its debut in cricket NFTs, which will be developed by Radio, the company that created the world’s first cricket NFT platform.

After leading a $120 million Series A investment last month through its CVC and M&A arm Dream Capital, Radio is the newest company to join the Dream Sports portfolio. With access to Dream Sports’ 140 million users, it owns the greatest share of cricket NFT rights globally and is poised to become the largest cricket NFT platform in the world.

Radio will debut NZC’s cricket NFT programme, enabling cricket fans to participate as a community and own a part of NZC cricket history through digital collectibles across player cards, video moments, and cricket artefacts. FIAT-only products are exclusively accessible in India.

A cutting-edge mobile game as well as a complete range of sports merchandise will be produced by Dream Sports’ game production subsidiary, Dream Game Studios, and will be housed on FanCode, India’s top sports content and commerce platform.

NZC chief executive David White said the new partnership with Dream Sports represented an exciting step into the metaverse for his company and opened up a new world of possibilities for New Zealand cricket fans. He stated one of the primary goals of NZC is to offer our teams a wider global audience, develop stronger relationships with other countries, and offer new chances for fans to engage with and connect with the rich history of our sport.

We are happy to be working with Dream Sports, a business that is at the forefront of its industry, creative, forward-thinking, and well-known for giving fans and subscribers priority.

According to NZC GM Commercial Chris Smith, the partnership would completely change the fan experience and increase interaction to previously unheard-of levels.

Vikrant Mudaliar, Chief Executive Officer of Dream Sports, said, “We are excited about the next great step in our affiliation with New Zealand Cricket and look forward to exploring its maximum potential for fan interaction.” The innovative arrangement will supply sports fans with content in stages.
