2nd September 2022, New Delhi – News18 India has continued to be the industry leader cementing its No.1 position in Hindi TV News space with a market share of 13.7% in week 31-34’22.
As per BARC data, Aaj Tak has acquired 11.8% market share. Whereas, India TV is at number 3 with 11.5% market share.
Ever since the BARC ratings have resumed, News18 has been steadily climbing the viewership charts.
The channel opened at number 3 when the BARC ratings resumed in March this year. Over the last four months, the channel has risen steadily to acquire the top position six weeks ago.
The channel has been investing heavily in journalistic resources, along with technology. Even on digital, the brand is garnering solid traction.

In Prime Time on weekdays (Wk 34’22, 1800-2400 hrs, TG: 15+, HSM) – News18 India is ranked No.1 in all individual hourly time-bands. Even in (Wk 34’22, 2100-2200 hrs, TG: 15+, HSM) News18 India is leading with 15.8% share which is 24% higher than Aaj Tak.
Additionally, News18 India has retained its No.1 position during 9-10 PM, the most prestigious time band in the National Hindi News genre where News18 India’s Kishore Ajwani show is ahead of India TV’s Rajat Sharma and Aajtak’s star anchor Sudhir Chaudhary.
The channel has not only performed well on TV but its digital audience base has also seen a steep growth. News18 India has maintained its leadership for almost 2 months now.
News18 India reaches 9.17 crore viewers, as compared to AajTak and India TV that reach 7.77 crore and 6.74 crore viewers respectively.
