Nokia, Samsung, Sony in leading positions: ‘The Brand Trust Report, India Study – 2013’

According to The Brand Trust Report, India Study – 2013, Nokia stands as India’s ‘Most Trusted Brand’ for the third consecutive year. Samsung and Sony are immediately below Nokia and are the second and third most trusted brands.

Being the most trusted brand is a credit and it seems like the year has started off well for the Finnish giant, Nokia. It is a sign of India’s love for Nokia, for its trendsetting performance in the mobile market. Samsung and Sony have climbed 2 ranks from last year to occupy 2nd and 3rd positions.

Progress shown by BMW is quite astonishing as it has moved up 20 ranks (from last year status) to reach 4th position.  Tata, the grand business leader, on the other hand, has gone down 3 positions and has to be satisfied with the 5th position. Tata was in second position, the last two years.

Godrej and Reliance are ranked 6th and 7th and have made significant progress over 2012. Godrej has moved up five ranks and Reliance by 3 ranks from last year. Last 3 ranks out of 10 are occupied by Bajaj, Airtel and LG in the most successive order.

The statistics is really welcoming for soft drink brand Coca Cola, as they have obtained ‘India’s Most Trusted Aerated Soft Drinks brand’ position from the 2nd position in Areated Soft Drinks Category which they have been holding for the last two years. Other brands which gained attention in The Brand Trust Report, India Study – 2013 are:

  • India’s Most Trusted Real Estate Company – DLF
  • India’s Most Trusted Educational Institute – IIT
  • India’s Most Trusted biscuit brand – Parle –G
  • India’s Most Trusted Chocolate Brand – Cadbury’s Dairy Milk
  • India’s Most Trusted Global Body – WHO
  • India’s Most Trusted Mosquito Repellent Brand — AllOut

Research for the Brand Trust Report, India Study – 2013 was conducted for 13000 hours among 2505 influencer-respondents from 16 cities. This year’s report lists India’s 1100 Most Trusted Brands from 211 categories.
