Digitalisation efforts helped saved close to 61,000 trees

Over 2, 35, 000 meetings held on virtual mode leading to massive gains in carbon footprint

Mumbai, 1st August 2021: NTPC Ltd., India’s largest integrated power producer has been bestowed with the DIGITAL PSU Award in Maharatna Category at the 8th PSU Award 2021 by Governance Now.

Shri A. K. Gautam, Director (Finance), NTPC Ltd received the award from Dr Kiran Bedi, Former Lt. Governor of Puducherry at the 8th PSU Award ceremony held on virtual platform.

In the past three years, the digitalisation efforts have helped in creating more than 20 lakh files in PRADIP, which is equivalent to more than 50 crore paper pages. The initiative has helped in saving close to 61,000 trees, a concrete step towards to more sustainable ecosystem. NTPC has also held over 2, 35, 000 meetings on virtual mode leading to a massive gains in carbon footprints for the company.

The award is a testimony to NTPC’s digitalization efforts that has led to the digital transformation of the company. In the past few years, NTPC has successfully implemented a number of IT initiatives such as PRADIP, Virtual Office platform – M365, Vendor Payment Portal, CLIMS, PI Apps, Suraksha App, RTM (Real Time Marketing) App, DREAMS 2.0 etc. The largest integrated power producer is in the process of embracing new technological platforms – AI/ML, RPA, IOT, AR/VR to make the infrastructure more robust and seamless.

The digitisation efforts has been a definitive step towards making the internal processes robust and unified which is contributing immensely towards addressing the ESG parameters for NTPC
