Number of ATM’s in India cross 1 lakh mark

Nov 13, 2012: Indian Banking sector at the end of October achieved another milestone as number of ATM’s in India crossed the 1 lakh mark. This statistics was brought out by The National Payments Corporation (NPCI) which acts as an umbrella organisation of RBI and other banks for retail payments. The State Bank Group has maximum number of ATM’s with 59% share of the ATM’s while private sector banks and foreign banks account for 40% followed by Cooperative Banks with 1% share.
