Oindrila Majumdar was named the new CEO of TIAA Global Business Services (GBS) India on Monday, October 3. GBS India is the Global Capability Center of TIAA and a top provider of a secure retirement and outcome-focused investment solutions to millions of people and thousands of institutions. Sastry Durvasula, TIAA’s Chief Information, and Client Services Officer, will be her direct supervisor.
With digital-first, cloud-first, and enterprise-wide shared services, TIAA is advancing its plan to be the leader in lifetime income, delight its clients, and strengthen how the company runs. Since its founding six years ago, TIAA GBS India has contributed significantly to the whole TIAA organization and has produced outstanding results with the highest degree of operational excellence. With more than 2,700 employees situated in Mumbai and Pune, TIAA’s India division continues to be a key player in the development of technology, client services, and corporate-wide shared services for the benefit of all companies and corporate functions. This covers the newest office launching in Mumbai and the upcoming campus expansion in Pune.
Majumdar joined TIAA GBS India in 2018 and has since been a crucial leader in the client services and technology teams for the Retirement Services and Nuveen Asset Management businesses. To make a difference in the nearby communities, she has been acting as the campus head for TIAA GBS India in Pune and chairing the operating committee for corporate social responsibility. She has more than 25 years of experience working for companies like Standard Chartered Bank, Fidelity Investments, and Deutsche Bank, where she held leadership positions for more than 10 years.

Jayant Patwardhan, a former CEO, will take over as Executive Chairman of TIAA GBS India. He has contributed to the growth of the company since his 2016 entry, from a three-person team to a fully staffed capabilities center. This year, TIAA GBS India received the “Great Places To Work” designation from GPTW thanks to his compassionate and decisive leadership, which was essential in managing the pandemic.
