The pandemic shutdown has created a halt in all sports activities. How much we miss a nice long morning walk/run or a good competitive race with our pals. The pandemic has forced ourselves into our homes and working out has subsequently reduced, so does our metabolism.
Late June, three women wore similar outfits, standing behind a line all ready to race. With a yell of “go”, they started running. But guess what the spice to this competition was? Other participants from different states joined the race virtually through a split-screen. The fun and health beneficial event created a world sensation empowering people to take up the challenge (abiding the rules of social distancing, of course) and run with your friends through a virtual connection.
Far ahead in technology, we can conduct almost every activity on the internet. The smart and creative invention of virtual connection helps us stay in touch with our loved ones and/or discover people around the world to make international bonds. The Corona pandemic has made it difficult to organize gatherings, let alone go for a race. Hence, runners are has turned to technology to come together yet apart to conduct athletic programs that are essentially informational to their viewers. And some coaches and race organizers have innovated after being forced to scrap plans for prestigious track meets, massive marathons, and the Tokyo Olympics, which were delayed from this summer to 2021. They’re making the best of time without in-person competition by hosting virtual races and pitting runners in different states — or even continents — against each other.
While certain cities/towns/states are under strict lockdown, we can live to stream our fitness routine with our viewers and give them awareness on the latest health trends and ways to stay fit during the lockdown. It is extremely important to keep a healthy diet because our body shouldn’t adjust itself to a lazy lifestyle which can make it incredibly hard to resume once the lockdown is over. We can also access to health bloggers on Instagram or Finalsurge or Strava.
Take opportunities to participate in virtual marathons when any blogger puts up a contest, not with the intention to win it but with the perseverance to earn health benefits. Stay fit, physically, and virtually.
