New Delhi, August 15, 2023: As India commemorates its 77th Independence Day, the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) is unveiling a triumvirate of initiatives that not only welcome linguistic diversity but also redefine user interaction and storytelling.
The ONDC website, www.ondc.org, now supports 12 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu, in addition to English, Hindi, and Kannada. This expansion underscores our commitment to embracing India’s diversity and fostering inclusivity in the digital realm, ensuring that Indians can engage with ONDC Protocol in their chosen language, starting August 15th.
Also, in a bid to empower sellers across the nation, ONDC has introduced “ONDC Sahayak,” a WhatsApp chatbot (currently in Beta phase) that serves as a guiding light for those navigating the intricacies of digital commerce. By simply sending a “Hi” to +91 81309 35050, sellers can embark on a journey of discovery.
ONDC Sahayak drives awareness for sellers about the Network’s advantages, showcases live categories, connects them with Seller Network Participants, and simplifies the onboarding process. In addition to English and Hindi, the chatbot will soon be able to understand and communicate in Marathi, Kannada, and Tamil languages. It will also receive more improvements and updates in the next few months.
Moreover, ONDC has introduced a short film as a tribute to the unsung heroes of digital transformation. This film embodies the limitless potential of an Open Network while showcasing its ability to open doors for every Indian. The ONDC Protocol envisions a future where inclusive participation allows anyone to engage as a buyer or seller, creating a nurturing environment for all.
