We have seen many rumors about the OnePlus 9 series over the last few weeks, with news indicating a potential smartphone launch in mid-March. Reports also indicated that the OnePlus 9 series would bring three new models with it, unlike its predecessors — OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, and OnePlus 9 Lite. A new leak about the OnePlus 9 series smartphone has now emerged in advance of the launch.
The latest information comes courtesy of the tipster, Max Jambor, who revealed some information about the OnePlus 9 devices’ wireless charging support. As per Jambor, up to 45W rapid wireless charging support will be provided by the OnePlus 9 Pro. Interestingly, this would be an improvement over the OnePlus 8 Pro that brought support for 30W wireless charging with it. The OnePlus 9 Pro is also tipped to pack reverse wireless charging that allows other smartphones or accessories like wireless headphones to be charged by the device.
In the latest leak, Max Jambor has also reported that the OnePlus 9 will also come with wireless charging support, but he has not specified the exact speed at which it will charge wirelessly. Although 91Mobiles claims to have gotten hold of this detail, adding that 30W wireless charging will carry the phone with it and will also support reverse wireless charging.
Previous leaks have indicated that the OnePlus 9 smartphones may skip packing a periscope camera in addition to this. This information came courtesy of the Digital Chat Station tipster who recently revealed to his Weibo followers that a normal telephoto lens would be packed in the OnePlus 9 series — as opposed to a periscope lens. There is no word about why the company is doing so, according to the details shared by the tipster, although it is speculated that the decision may have been made as a result of supply chain problems.
We have previously seen rumors of the OnePlus 9 camera module, which claimed to be a 50-megapixel lens hero. The phone will have a three-camera configuration, the mainstay of which, according to a leak on SlashLeaks, will be a 50-megapixel Ultra Vision wide-angle camera with an f/1.9 aperture. The leak also reveals that this lens will be coupled to a 20-megapixel Cine Sensor, an ultra-wide f/1.8 aperture lens. For the third lens in the setup, there will be an OIS supported 12-megapixel telephoto camera with autofocus and f/3.4 aperture.
