Their groundbreaking study titled “Comparative Characterization Study of Plant-Based Calcium versus Synthetic Calcium” has been chosen for the prestigious International Best Researcher Award by the esteemed ISSN International Science & Technology Awards (IISTAC-2023). This recognition is in collaboration with the World Research Council. The co-authors of this groundbreaking study, Dr. Supriya H. Raut and Mihir C. Gadani, were felicitated during a distinguished ceremony held on 28 October 2023 for their remarkable contribution to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
The aim of the study was to characterize Plant based calcium and Synthetic calcium sources using sophisticated analytical techniques and to establish an in-depth understanding about the structural and compositional differences between the calcium derived from plant based and synthetic sources.
The study discovered that both Plant based and Synthetic Calcium can be distinguished using SEM, ICP-OES and XRD techniques. The study proves that plant based calcium is more enriched with Boron and Magnesium than Synthetic source of calcium. Findings of this study also proved that the form of calcium derived from Plant based sources is structurally more stable than the form of calcium derived from synthetic sources. Outcomes of the study enlighten the probable reasons for enhanced bioavailability in case of plant based calcium sources as compared to synthetic calcium sources.
