First-ever in India, the National Level Common Test for media studies across universities was going to be held on Saturday, August 14. The All India Media Common Entrance Test offers admissions for undergraduate journalism, Mass Communication, and other media courses. And for the next academic year will include the post-graduate media programs.

The test is will be guided by the Global Media Education Council. For maintaining the right balance between theory and practice in the media syllabus and helping to develop employability in today’s time, the GMEC and media body of educators and professionals has been set up in 2021.

This year the Global Media Education Council is a media body and the senior professionals looking for better quality human resources for the communication domain and suggesting the various media domains for consideration of the institute.

Global Media Education Council is planning to bring 75 days’ online event to bring the best media educators of India. And soon in the world, it will contribute to learning media and communication ahead. AIMCET will also have some tests regarding the law, medical, engineering, and management and not for media till 2020.

This test involves five sections, a total of 100 marks consisting of 100 objective-type questions, and the time limit is up to 120 minutes. Counseling sessions for the entry-level media learners will make them informed choices also with the psychometric tests.

AIMCET will be a good attempt for upgrading the standards of media education. The web-led media has come forefront during the pandemic. Media education still follows the conventional methods and tools for learning. Upgrading the education system to suit the post-pandemic circumstances in the fields of brand communication. Therefore, newer modes of media and communication have to be introduced and bring up.
