In India, HP is releasing the Pavilion Aero, their lightest consumer laptop. The Aero is a tiny magnesium-aluminum chassis that weighs little under 1kg and packs lots of power. It’s essentially a more expensive version of the Pavilion 13 we previously reviewed.
A brighter 16:10 display, AMD processors, and a variety of color options, including ceramic white, natural silver, and rose gold, are all included in the new laptop. However, I’m interested in learning more about its battery life. Nonetheless, it’s amazing that HP has priced the Aero so aggressively despite introducing so many enhancements. After all, the Pavilion is a mass-market product. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600U entry-level variant is priced at Rs 79,999. For Rs 94,999, those searching for a more powerful computer and willing to spend a little extra may have an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U-powered Aero. The Aero’s design and form factor are its main selling points. It has the same design as the Pavilion 13 (2021), but it is made of metal and comes in a variety of different colors, including white, silver, and rose gold. It is only 970g in weight. The panel is also receiving a much-needed makeover. The Aero is a 13.3-inch laptop like the Pavilion 13, but it has a WUXGA (1920×1200 pixels) resolution, can be brighter (400 nits), appears to be more color correct (100 percent sRGB), and has a new 16:10 aspect ratio that could aid with productivity activities. It also features reduced bezels, resulting in a screen-to-body ratio of over 90%.
The Aero is powered by a Ryzen 5 5600U or Ryzen 7 5800U CPU with Radeon graphics integrated. This is coupled with 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and 16GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM. 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C 10Gbps (USB Power Delivery, Display Port 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge), 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps, 1 HDMI 2.0, 1 AC smart pin, and a headphone/microphone combination are among the connectivity choices. The laptop’s battery life is rated at up to 10 hours and 30 minutes. Dual speakers, Wi-Fi 6, a 720p camera, and a dedicated fingerprint reader round out the package. The Pavilion Aero comes preloaded with Windows 10 Home and will be upgraded to Windows 11 later this year.
