Paytm Insider has always strived to be an LGBTQ+ inclusive space, and this year it has chosen to commemorate Pride Month with its Proud & Loud initiative. Through this, the platform is curating an exquisite set of experiences in which the community can express itself freely and come together to celebrate Pride, love, and inclusivity in a fun yet impactful way.
Paytm Insider is curating experiences from across the country as part of the initiative, including SOCIAL’s Satrangi Mela, the well-known pride pop-up that returns this June at outlets across the country.
Not to mention the first all-queer comedy lineup in India, ‘Queer Rated.’ There are also Bollywood-themed Quiz Nights at Chaiffee Cafe and Out & About (India’s first queer inclusive travel community) in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Play with Pride Trivia Night at Unlocked in Gurugram will feature a Pride-themed MELA pub quiz, making for an exciting evening of food, drinks, and wits. Following that, Lush Monsoon, Delhi’s own drag star, will host an exciting Pride Party at Unlocked.
Furthermore, as the world celebrates Pride Month with bright colours, flags, and powerful messages, Paytm Insider intends to channel that same compassion into its actions. While the platform has always been an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, the Proud & Loud initiative this year introduces new inclusivity-focused initiatives. One of these is providing pronoun stickers at events.
Paytm Insider understands the importance of using correct pronouns when interacting because it fosters inclusion, makes people feel respected, and affirms their gender identity. To encourage this practise, they have created sticker tags that clearly say she/her, he/him, and they/them for attendees to wear at any event, as well as blank sticker tags on which to write your own pronouns.
At the same time, zines have long served as a vehicle for the LGBTQ+ community to express their identities, stories, and experiences. To create a similar open, safe, and expressive space, the platform has organised stations where you can drop by and make your own zine about your story and identity! Furthermore, Paytm Insider has small surprises in store for the community and allies, such as badges and cute wristbands – that you can wear to express yourself and more!
