Nov 17, 2012: Indian customers have given thumbs up to diesel vehicles in India since last couple of years due to the huge divide between the prices of diesel and petrol. The demand for diesel cars is pretty high in India and nearly 57% cars sold till September end were diesel cars. But off late, a shift in the customers purchase behaviour is being observed and the industry is seeing a 3% to 5% jump in Petrol car sales in October. This increase of sales in Petrol cars is being attributed to increase in diesel prices and the new models of cars being launched in the market. The petrol cars which are in great demand are the 800, Hyundai Eon, Maruti Swift, Toyota Etios Liva, Nissan Micra and Skoda Fabia.
