P&G Shiksha launches a new film about Sushila, who fulfilled her dream to be a teacher

P&G Shiksha through its intervention has supported more than 2300 schools that will impact more than 23 lakh children 

The P&G Shiksha film has already received more than 50 lakh views on YouTube 

The P&G Shiksha film has been conceptualized and created by BBDO India 

Mumbai, May 17, 2022: P&G Shiksha, the flagship CSR program of P&G India, recently unveiled its new heart-warming film that highlights the role education plays in fulfilling dreams and making them a reality. The film is inspired by true events and showcases the story of Sushila who dreamt about going to school and becoming a teacher. With access to school and education, she could study and today is teaching hundreds of students, like herself, and helping them realize their dreams.  

The film has been launched across social media platforms YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram and has already received more than 50 lakh views on YouTube. The P&G Shiksha film has been conceptualized and created by BBDO India. 

P&G recognizes the importance of education, now more than ever, due to the impact of the pandemic-related school closure across the country over the past couple of yearsDuring this challenging time, the company supported underprivileged children to continue their learning and education through online and community-based interventions. To date, since its inception in 2005, P&G Shiksha has built and supported more than 2,300 schools which will impact the lives of more than 23 lakh children.  

Speaking about the new film, Girish Kalyanaraman, Vice President – Marketing Operations, P&G India said, “Every child has dreams about who they will be when they grow up and education paves the way for fulfilling these dreams. Over the years, our audience has continued to support Shiksha, and this film shares one of the many stories of the impact made and dreams fulfilled. We also hope that this film continues to inspire the audience in doing their bit towards the education of children. As P&G, we will continue to step up as a force for good and support holistic education for underprivileged children and help them fulfill their dreams through our P&G Shiksha program.”

P&G Shiksha has focused on improving access to holistic education for underprivileged children. P&G India partners with leading NGOs and partners who serve as specialists, lending their expertise to specific aspects of the educational system. For instance, Educational Initiatives has expertise in computer-assisted learning software to improve learning levels among children and has been an instrumental partner for P&G Shiksha to reach out to underprivileged children via online education over the last few years. Similarly, the NGO Round Table India, is dedicated to constructing educational infrastructure and supporting schools across India. Pratham has unique expertise in remedial learning to help bring children up to speed with the learning levels as per their curriculum. The NGO Save the Children is supporting education of marginalized girls across the country.
