PR_News18 JKLH vanquishes competition; acquires leadership position within 50 days of launch

New Delhi, October: News18 Jammu/Kashmir/Ladakh/Himachal (JKLH) has become the number one channel in its segment, acquiring the highest market share according to the recently released BARC ratings.

The channel which comes from the stable of India’s largest news network has surpassed all its competitors to claim number one position within 50 days of its launch.

News18 JKLH has topped the charts with a market share of 39.2%, as compared to JKL 24×7 News and Gulistan News’ which garnered 36.1%, and 24.7% respectively (TG: 15+, Wk. 39’22, All Days). During the coveted prime time slot, the channel has nearly 45% of the market share. 

With the launch of News18 JKLH on August 15th this year, News18 Network became the first national news network to have a dedicated news channel from the region. 

In a short duration since its launch, the channel has become the voice of people, highlighting their achievements, aspirations, issues and concerns.

News18 JKLH is one of the 21 news channel run by News18 Network, the largest news network in the country-seen by more than 70 crore Indians annually in 18 languages. 

In its coverage, News18 JKLH has been emphasising on local economy, thriving sports and tourism ecosystem, regional culture, along with the ever evolving socio-economic and political landscape in the region.

On the digital front; Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh have separate destinations that provide in-depth ground coverage of the specific area.

News18 Jammu/Kashmir/Ladakh/Himachal has two dedicated bulletins in Kashmiri, two in Ladakhi and one in Dogri and dedicated bulletins for Himachal called ‘Apna Himachal’. 

The channel also has a dedicated daily debate show in Kashmiri called ‘Penj Peth’ and a dedicated daily debate show in Dogri called ‘Takodi Gal’.

Aiming to educate the audience on health subjects, the channel recently launched a weekly health show called ‘Aapki Sehat’, along with a special investigation weekly crime show called ‘Tafteesh’.
