Prakash Mall joins Tesco Bengaluru as Director of Engineering – Commercial Product

Bengaluru, 31 May 2022: Tesco Bengaluru, the global business services and technology arm of UK’s retail giant Tesco PLC, today announced the appointment of Prakash Mall as Director of Engineering – Commercial Product

Prakash has over two decades of experience building enterprise products for retail, insurance, and healthcare. His expertise lies in deploying emerging technologies and deep business insights to solve complex business challenges and drive immense business value.  

Prakash has taken over the role from Vidya Laxman, who has now relocated to the UK and will be a part of the leadership team at Tesco Bengaluru. In his new role, Prakash will support and deliver technology solutions in Space, Range, and Merchandising globally. Additionally, Prakash will also be instrumental in driving innovation to provide seamless in-store and digital experiences for Tesco customers.

Prior to joining Tesco, Prakash led the technology team at Target, building the ‘vision computing platform’ to solve for complex retail challenges. He has also spent over a decade working with IBM in the US and India.   

Prakash has also filed two patents for automating business processes. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
