This New Year, Amazon Prime Video is bringing a special treat for its viewers as India’s most beloved entertainment destination enters the live cricket streaming play. It all starts with the test series between Bangladesh and New Zealand from 1st January 2022.
Prime Video, in November 2020, obtained exclusive live cricket rights from a major cricketing board and became the first-ever streaming service to do so in India. As part of the deal, international men’s and women’s cricket matches, including ODI, T20, and tests, played in New Zealand will be available exclusively on Prime Video.
The highly awaited series between the Indian and New Zealand Women’s Cricket Teams will be available to stream for Prime members. They’ll also be able to stream the Indian and New Zealand Men’s Cricket Teams presently scheduled for November 2022.
In addition to this are the matches scheduled between the Men’s teams as part of Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand in January 2022, followed by South Africa’s tour in February, Australia’s tour in March, and at last the Netherlands’ tour in March/April.
First to stream on Prime Video will be the test series between New Zealand and Bangladesh. The first match is scheduled to be played at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, from 1-5 January.
The New Zealand national cricket team has a devoted fan following in India. It is ranked #1 in ODI and #2 in Test Cricket.
The second test match at Hagley Oval, Christchurch marks the conclusion of the test series. It is scheduled to commence on January 9 and conclude on January 13.
For each day’s play, Prime members can tune in live at 3:30 a.m. IST. In the run-up to the matches, cricket lovers can get an abundance of cricket programming and highlights. They can also revisit the highlights of matches shortly after the match ends.
Prime subscribers can go to the Prime Video app on their smartphones or other devices and can either find the matches shown in a carousel for Live Cricket or they can search for it in the search bar.
The matches can be watched online through their web browsers, mobile devices, Fire TV sticks, internet-connected TVs, set-top-boxes, and other compatible devices.
