The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) created and launched RuPay (a combination of Rupee and Payment) on March 26, 2012.
It was established to realize the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) aim of a local, open, and multilateral payment system. RuPay is an electronic payment system that works with all Indian banks and financial organizations.
To allow the RuPay card program to acquire worldwide recognition, NPCI maintains relationships with Discover Financial and JCB. The title sponsor of the Prime Volleyball League is RuPay, the flagship product of the National Payments Corporation of India.
RuPay, India’s first Global Card payment network, has secured three-year title sponsorship rights for India’s newest franchise-based sports league, which is set to kick off in early 2022. RuPay is widely accepted at ATMs, POS devices, and e-commerce websites across India.
The seven franchises in the Prime Volleyball League are Calicut Heroes, Kochi Blue Spikers, Ahmedabad Defenders, Hyderabad Black Hawks, Chennai Blitz, Bengaluru Torpedoes, and Kolkata Thunderbolts.
The Prime Volleyball League Player Auction will take place in Kochi on December 14, 2021, and will comprise 24 games. “We are happy to be the title sponsor for the Prime Volleyball League for the next three years,” stated Rajeeth Pillai, NPCI’s Chief Relationship Management and Marketing. The Sony Pictures Network will broadcast the Prime Volleyball League, which will be exclusively marketed by Baseline Ventures, the nation’s leading sports marketing business. In a multi-year partnership, gaming giant A23 has signed on as a “Powered By” sponsor.
