National, 9th January, 2025: Bollywood and South Indian film star Rakul Preet Singh, along with her husband, actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, recently unveiled their beautifully designed home in the latest episode of Asian Paints Where the Heart Is. In an exclusive walkthrough of their earthy toned home, Rakul and Jackky shared heartfelt insights into their journey of creating a home that embodies love, tranquility, and personal expression. “Home is the energy you build,” Rakul remarked. “No matter how hard your day has been outside, the moment you get back home, you get this sigh of relief and you’re like – home sweet home.”
In a heartfelt reflection, Rakul shares her journey of discovering the true meaning of home. For her, this realization came when she lived alone in Mumbai and created her first home in Hyderabad. “That’s when I understood the meaning of calmness, the impact decor can have on your emotions, and the sense of belonging that comes from how your space looks,” Rakul explains. She emphasizes the importance of creating a home that reflects one’s true self.
The couple’s home is a masterclass in thoughtful design, reflecting their personalities while ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone who enters. Both Rakul and Jackky are firm believers in wellness, and their home reflects this philosophy at every turn. Each room tells a story, blending vibrant pops of colour with earthy tones and textures, two – toned walls, monochrome palettes, creating an environment that balances elegance and comfort.
The bedroom is their most sacred space, a mix of wooden shades along with lighter reflections. The entire space feels open, and the colours reflect positivity. “We love coming back home. It makes us feel cozy and warm,” Jackie shares. “Both of us really like it—elegant, yet simple, and a happy, bright home.”
Rakul and Jackky’s formal living room blends vibrancy and coziness, with yellow and green couches contrasting the warm wooden accents for a cheerful, inviting atmosphere. Rakul loves the use of wood for its timeless elegance and warmth. Rakul then moves to her favourite space in the house which she refers to as the Cozy Room. The room has a contrast of silver in an otherwise brown-beige tonal room which makes its decor element stand out. The contrast creates an eye-catching yet serene environment, ideal for laughter, relaxation, and quality time. “This is the space that we use, you dance, you laugh, you sing, you eat food, and you chill like this,” she added.
Acknowledging the early years of her career in Hyderabad, Rakul shared, “Hyderabad is where my dream of becoming an actor came true. The love and support I’ve received from the Telugu film industry and its audience will always be close to my heart.” Her connection to the city is mirrored in the home’s decor, which combines modern aesthetics with nostalgic warmth. She also credits her upbringing in the cantonment environment for influencing her love for simplicity and greenery. “The white walls, green lawns, and calmness of my childhood home are reflected here,” she noted.
Being core fitness enthusiasts, they emphasize on the need of keeping oneself healthy. “The only place you truly live in is your body,” Rakul said. “If you can’t take care of it, what’s the point of taking care of material things? Wellness starts here, in the heart and the mind.”
Rakul and Jackky’s home is an inspiring showcase of how thoughtful design can transform a house into a haven. The couple believes in creating a home that radiates positivity, warmth, and togetherness. “If our walls could speak, they’d say we’re all about love, friendship, and laughter,”
