RRR, a blockbuster film directed by SS Rajamouli, was a worldwide success. “RRR,” which was released theatrically in March, has grossed over Rs. 1,200 crores at the global box office. The film aired on Netflix on May 20 and quickly became the most popular Indian film on the streaming service worldwide.
“RRR,” tells the fictional story of two Indian liberation warriors from the early twentieth century, Alluri Sitarama (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR). It also features crucial performances by Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.
Ram Charan’s performance in the film has gained worldwide acclaim since its release earlier this year. Now, Cheo Hodari Coker, the creator of Luke Cage, has stated that Ram Charan appears to be a perfect match for the part of James Bond.
Since British actor, Daniel Craig’s tenure as the famous James Bond ended last year with ‘No Time to Die,’ the quest for a new 007 has been on.
Coker took to Twitter to list a number of names as his suggestions for the next James Bond, including actor Idris Elba and floated the notion that Charan may be a suitable contender for the role of 007, which included actor Idris Elba.
“Bond? Idris Elba, Sope Dirisu, Matthew Goode, Damson Idris, and Ram Charan,” he wrote.
He continued, “Damn! That immediately escalated. Everyone knows Idris from, well, everything, but watch Sope in “Gangs of London,” Matthew G in “The Offer,” Damson in “Snowfall,” and Ram in “RRR” to get into my head. They’ve all earned a Savile Row suit and a Walther PPK.”
If Ram Charan is cast as Bond, he will be the eighth actor to portray the role, following Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.
In response to Cheo’s post, Ram Charan’s followers dubbed him the “King of Tollywood.” Some also shared his RRR and other film images and movies.
Previously, the picture got accolades from Hollywood. C Robert Cargill, the writer of DC’s ‘Batman Beyond,’ and Jackson Lanzing, the writer of MARVEL Comics’ ‘Captain America and Kang,’ have both praised the picture. Filmmaker Joe Russo also praised the SS Rajamouli-directed “RRR,” calling it a “perfectly done epic.”
Joe said he saw “RRR” after it became accessible on Netflix and thought it was a beautiful narrative of brothers.
“It’s popular right now because of Netflix, and ‘RRR’ was a fantastic film. It was a pretty well-executed epic, with good strong themes, amazing cinematography, and a really moving tale about brotherhood “Joe had informed PTI.
In a recent interview, Rajamouli stated, “There is never enough for me.” “The only thing that bothers me is when my producer comes in and says, ‘We’re going over budget.'” You have to come to a halt someplace.’ That is the one thing that will prevent me from continuing. Without a question, if given the opportunity, I will go much larger and wilder.
Over the same time span, Rajamouli, 48, has ascended to become one of the country’s most prominent filmmakers. In 2015, he released his two-part “Baahubali” epic. Its 2017 sequel is the country’s largest box office success. (Both are also available on Netflix.)
“Baahubali” was a Telugu victory that signified that Tollywood in India’s south has maybe eclipsed Bollywood as the country’s leading film industry.
