A robot is a computer-programmed machine. It can automatically perform a complex series of operations without human intervention. The robot can be controlled by an external controller or the controller can be built into the robot itself.

The world has changed completely since the covid-19 pandemic. The whole world is increasingly dependent on technology to keep in touch and do its work. As social distance has become the norm, robots have emerged as a safer alternative. Robots have become an important part of everyday life.

Robots as a customer service mechanism

The robotics team at ING Bank in Poland has launched a service called SAIO, an AI-based solution that allows SMEs to robotize their operations. SAIO can be used for computerized financial processes, but also for other aspects of the business, such as human resources and logistics, that need to be managed.

A robot that cleans

Cleaning the home has become more important than Covid-19 and as society converges, people are being forced to clean themselves. However, some robots are being used to clean and disinfect homes and hospitals. To kill all kinds of viruses and bacteria, UV-C light is used by companies such as UVD Robotics, Xenex, Tru-D, Puro Lighting and Surface. In New York City, Puro’s UV lights are used to clean subway cars and bus cars. Milagrow launched three new robots in India, Milagrow iMap Max, Milagrow iMap 10.0 and Milagrow Seagull, which clean houses at the touch of a button. In addition, some robots have arms that can lift objects, open boxes, move objects, and even open and close doors without physical contact, as well as disinfect rooms with ultraviolet light and chemical sprays of hydrogen peroxide.

A robot that can read

For years there have been software robots that can automate repetitive computational tasks based on algorithms, simply by mimicking the way humans use applications. But now comes something smarter – a robot that can read. ING has developed a smart robot that is a smart content service. These robots are trained to recognize information from documents, such as invoices or pay slips, using artificial intelligence algorithms. This facilitates the work of the customer and the service provider. In addition to reading documents, it can also automate photos, chat logs and other content in this way.

A robot that can cook

With the rapid pace of digital transformation, some technologies take us by surprise. In India, Rebel Foods uses a combination of software, robotics and automation to prepare food. It uses robotically controlled smart pans that recognize the shape of the food and can automatically adjust the temperature of the oil without human intervention. The company also uses an AIQC visual device called a SWAT device that describes size, weight, appearance and temperature. Each finished dish is placed in a machine that scans it and accepts or rejects it accordingly. In addition, some robots can prepare burgers while workers take online orders or clean the restaurant.
