India, 15th June 2023: Red Bull Dance Your Style, a global street dance event series with a unique format, returns to India for its third edition in the country. With over 90 events held in 30 countries around the world, Red Bull Dance Your Style is a truly global event with a unique twist – the crowd is the judge. Dancers from various street dance styles compete in one-on-one battles to unpredictable mainstream tracks ranging from recent global hits to classic beats, and the crowd decides who will emerge winner through a unique voting mechanism.
To participate in the Red Bull Dance Your Style India qualifiers, 1326 dancers registered on www.redbull.in/redbulldanceyourstyle and uploaded performance clips to their personal Instagram accounts, following all guidelines.
Dassy (US), Majid (Germany) and Ibuki (Japan) judged the digital qualifiers and selected the top 16 dancers from each region.
Following the digital qualifiers, 16 dancers have been selected from each region of the country – North (Noida, Delhi, Jaipur, Haldwani, Sonipat, Ghaziabad and Gwalior), South (Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Coimbatore and Thiruvananthapuram), East (Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Cuttack, Darjeeling, Guwahati, Mizoram, Islampur, and Shillong) and West (Mumbai, Pune, Jamnagar, Surat and Ahmedabad) – to compete in the following Regional Finals on-ground.
16th June: North (Delhi) – IFBC Studio, Saket (6pm onwards)
17th June: East – (Kolkata) – One8 Commune (10.30pm onwards)
24th June: South (Bangalore) – Fandom at Gilly’s Redefined (5pm onwards)
25th June: West (Mumbai) – antiSOCIAL (3pm onwards)
This will be followed by the India Final, where 16 dancers selected from the Regional Finals will compete for the title of India Champion.
At the Regional Finals and the India Final, the audience decides who rules the dance floor, with winners being determined through crowd voting.
The street dance styles permitted in the Red Bull Dance Your Style in India are hip-hop, popping, locking, house, krumping, tutting, waving, dancehall, afro dance, voguing, waacking, litefeet, animation, and electro.
In Red Bull Dance Your Style, all dance forms and genders compete against one another in a single category to determine an overall champion.
The winner of the Red Bull Dance Your Style India Final will go on to compete at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Germany on 4th November 2023
