Reduction in the price of Hero Electric Nyx due to FAME II revision

As per the FAME II scheme, the government had decided to increase subsidies for electric two-wheelers. Due to this scheme, several players had to cut down the products price.

It was Ather Energy who was the first to announce a price cut for its electric scooters. Hero Electric has also done the same and has decided to pass on the benefits to the customers. The new price of the electric scooters was also announced by the company recently. The company also implemented price cuts from 12 to 33 per cent on its electric scooters with all the benefits offered by the Nyx HX triple battery scooter. The Photon HX, which is now available at the showrooms for a price range of Rs 71,449 in comparison with the previous price of Rs 79,940. There was a reduction of 8,491. Optima ER double battery electric scooter can be yours at a price range of Rs 58,980 as its previous price was Rs 78,640. This brand also reduced the price of the model by Rs 19,660. Hero Nyx HX triple battery electric scooter is provided with more benefits, which was available for Rs 1,13,115 and now it is priced at Rs 85,136. A massive price cut of Rs 27,979.

Sohinder Gill, CEO of Hero Electric said that” Subsidies on batteries and EVs under the FAME policy was the move that the industry needed for the implementation of electric vehicles. The company had one of the best years in terms of sales due to the pandemic last year is proof that the market is fully grown for a major push towards changing towards a cleaner mobility solution. In the last two years, they have seen a sudden burst in the adoption of their CITY SPEED SERIES and with this subsidy, they will be expecting an increase in the sale of such models. The industry will be able to touch 5-7 million units on road within the next 5 years”. Randheer Singh, Senior Specialist of NITI AYOG said that “The union government and its ministries are responsible as an administrative body, which is committed to transforming the way the nation commutes. They had discussions with the stakeholder’s in the industry and after numerous considerations, they felt announcing the amendments to the existing policy, which would help in the adoption of electric two-wheelers in India. It is the right time for the country to change to a cleaner mode of transport and reduce harmful pollutants from fossil fuel vehicles.”
