Regency Healthcare Organizes "Kidney Health for All" Walkathon to Raise Awareness on Kidney Diseases

Regency Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in Lucknow, is organizing a “Kidney Health for All” Walkathon on March 14, 2024, from 5:00 am to 8:00 am. The event aims to raise awareness about kidney diseases and promote early screening to prevent chronic kidney disease (CKD) and End-Stage Renal Disease.

The walkathon will commence from 1090 Chouraha, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, and conclude at Lohiya Park, Gate No. 2. The event will feature free T-shirts distributed to the first 1000 participants, along with caps and refreshments provided to all attendees.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a significant health concern in India, with approximately 10% of the population affected by the condition. Every year, over 1 lakh cases of renal failure are reported, highlighting the urgent need for awareness and early intervention.

According to recent studies, awareness and early screening can prevent CKD and End-Stage Renal Disease. The demand for dialysis and kidney transplants is alarmingly high, emphasizing the importance of early detection and management of CKD.

In addition to promoting physical activity, the walkathon aims to educate participants about the risk factors and preventive measures for kidney diseases, while also raising awareness about the importance of kidney health. The kidneys play a crucial role in filtering waste and maintaining blood pressure, yet reports suggest that one in eight Indians experience chronic kidney disease. Rising cases of CKD pose challenges not only to patients but also to the healthcare system, underscoring the importance of promoting CKD screening for early detection and management.

Regency Healthcare invites individuals of all ages to participate in the “Kidney Health for All” Walkathon to join the fight against kidney diseases and promote a healthier future for all.
