Renault’s sub-4-meter compact SUV the Kiger has entered mass production at the manufacturing facility located in Oragadam, Chennai. With the global launch held last month, it is expected to be launched in India by this month and later introduced to other global markets.
Renault has already begun dispatching the Kiger to dealerships across the country. The manufacturer over the past has been able to build an extensive sales and service network spread over 500 and 475 locations covering the nation.
The compact SUV by Renault will feature a twin-slat chrome grille, tri-LED headlights, LED DRLs also acting as indicators, roof rails, shark fin antenna, spoiler, C shaped taillamps, skid plates with aluminum finishing, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Renault has made sure that the Kiger is well equipped by providing an 8-inch touch-enabled floating infotainment system, Apple car play, and Android Auto connectivity features that help one to pair android and iOS phones to be connected to the infotainment system, a fully digital 7-inch instrument console, auto climate control, wireless phone chargers, air filter, ambient lighting, and Arkamys 3D sound system with 8 speakers.
The Kiger is available in two engine variants 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol available in a 5-speed MT and 5 -5-speed X-Tronic CVT options producing 100 Ps and 160 Nm, 1.0 liter naturally aspirated petrol available in 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT options producing 72 Ps and 96 Nm. The customer also has the choice of altering the car’s behavior by switching between three driving modes namely Eco, Normal, and Sport.
The Kiger will tackle the potholes and speed breakers with ease due to the high ground clearance of 205 mm, a spacious interior is a highlight of Kiger with the best-in-class distance between front seats 710mm, second-row leg, and elbow room 222mm and 1431mm respectively. Ample storage of 405 litres is also on offer in this sub-4-meter SUV.
