As keeping up to his promise every year, this year too Salman Khan has announced his most anticipated film Radhe to be released during Eid. He always has a huge fan crowd waiting for his movies to be released. It is hoped that this will mark a new beginning in the media and film industry this year.
Usually, as we all know, most of the films are first released in theatres and then after a certain period, it is opened to a new window as these get distributed to the satellite television and various other streaming platforms.
A film like Radhe starred by such a hilarious actor Salman Khan always anticipated both the film industry as well as the film business as their relief during this Covid-19 pandemic. But as the second wave of the pandemic has hit the country so hard that lakhs of new cases have been reporting these days from across the country, this situation made many states go into strict lockdowns and it simultaneously affected the theatres and plays so hard.
Taking this quagmire into consideration, ZEE Studios has decided to have a multi-platform approach for this film release. ZEE Studios through a statement announced that ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ will be released through theatres worldwide, sticking to the strong Covid protocols released by the government. The film will also be made available in various digital platforms like ZEE5 with ZEE’s per view service ZEEPlex applicable to the viewers, the OTT platform ZEE5 and other DTH services like Dish, Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV, and D2H. With this release, ZEE Studios becomes the first-ever studio in India to adopt a multi-format release across the globe.
Speaking about this, Mr Shariq Patel CEO of ZEE Studios said, “that the ongoing pandemic made us more innovative. While we all love to watch the latest movies in theatres, we decided we would be doing an offence to the entire Salman Khan fans out there, if we aren’t releasing it theatre in any of the Indian states. So, we decided to give them pay per view service as they get more convenience and flexibility for watching the movie as per their comfort. We are so excited to release Radhe in over 40 countries including theatrical releases in all major overseas countries.
Mr Manish Khalra, the Chief Business Officer of ZEE5 India said, “they are really proud and happy to give Radhe a scale that it deserves and to take it to every online screening platforms present in the country via ZEE5”.
Along with Salman Khan, the film also stars Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff and Randeep Singh in its major roles. This film is propounded by Salman Khan films in association with ZEE Studios, produced by Salman Khan, Sohali Khan and Reel Life Production Private Limited. The movie is set to be released on the 13th of May.
