The South Korean tech giant Samsung announced the launch of two affordable priced smartphones in India. The manufacturer aims to grab a significant share in the market with such devices.
The handsets are the Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 selfie smartphones that are priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 14,999 respectively. These smartphones will be exclusively available only via the e-commerce portal Flipkart and they will arrive with freebies worth Rs 4,000. The pre-booking of these smartphones is open till July 22.
The Galaxy J5 is bestowed with a 5 inch display with a HD 720p screen resolution. Under its hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 processor that is teamed up with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of native storage space that can be expanded up to 128 GB using a micro SD card. The smartphone supports 4G connectivity and it is energized by a 2,600 mAh battery.
The imaging aspects of the Galaxy J5 include a 13 MP main snapper at its back with f/1.9 aperture and a 5 MP front facing selfie shooter. The other aspects of the device include 3G, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, GLONASS and micro USB.
The Galaxy J7, on the other hand, features a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED HD 720p display and employs a 1.5 GHz octa core Exynos 7580 SoC. There is 16 GB of native memory capacity that can be expanded up to 128 GB using a micro SD card. The other goodies onboard the device is similar to that of the Galaxy J5 and it is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery.
Both the Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 run on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and they are dual SIM smartphones with dual standby feature. Notably, both the smartphones are selfie focused devices as they have LED flash at the front.
Samsung is providing flip covers worth Rs 999 for just Rs 199. Also, it has teamed up with Airtel to provide double data 4G offer. The customers will get free unlimited music download for Rs 594 via Wynk Music app for six months. The Galaxy J5 and J7 are preloaded with Gameloft games such as Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5 and more, and there are free in-game credits of up to Rs 3,200.
