July 16,2014: Samsung which fights a pitch battle against Apple at a global level has taken the competition to a new level by launching the “Dont be Wall Hugger” campaign. The company has launched the latest Samsung S5 Commercial which directly hits out at Apple iPhone. The new commercial talks about the battery life of Samsung smartphones and the poor charging capabilities of Apple iPhone’s. The new ad which has been conceptualised and created by 72 and Sunny shows Samsung mocking at iPhone users who are wall huggers and always try to be near to the plug points.
The ad which shows people huddling towards the nearest charging points ends with a voiceover which says Samsung Galaxy S5 is here which is ‘The Next Big Thing’. The idea builds around the concept that smartphones have a poor battery life and some experts belive that it is an average idea at its best. The new commercial is actually a follow up of an earlier commercial which was released a couple of weeks back. The earlier “The next big thing” commercial which was released by Samsung directly compares its Galaxy S5 to the Apple iPhone. The features like health app, water resistant and other innovations are highlighted in that commercial.
Though some experts have given a thumbs up to this campaign there are experts who believe that this ad might not convince the die-hard fans of Apple and that Apple is yet to introduce its new models for the year which might have these innovations or probably even better than Samsung Galaxy S5.
