Sandip Basu has been named Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of VerSe Innovation, one of India’s largest local language technology platforms.
Sandip is a seasoned business executive who has led and built various companies as a CEO and Group CFO over the last 30 years.
He has established high-performing teams and held them to the highest operational and compliance standards. Sandip will work as Group CFO to build a world-class finance function and team that is aligned with VerSe’s strategic objectives and vision.
Sandip’s addition to VerSe Innovation’s growing leadership team comes as the unicorn considers an aggressive monetization strategy, expansion plans for its family of apps, and the expansion of its broad-based tech platforms across other international geographies to meet unmet content needs of local language audiences globally.
Sandip is a seasoned business leader who has served as CEO, MD, and CFO for companies such as Bharti Telecom Limited, Fascel Limited, BPL Mobile Group, XCEL Telecom, Loop Mobile, and Loop Telecom. Sandip also launched Wise Apps, a company that specialised in providing virtual assurance and warranty services for electrical devices. He has established compliance systems to protect promoters and founders on greenfield enterprises in sunrise sectors.
Sandip’s financial domain knowledge and functional competence have also allowed him to work closely with and manage end-to-end engagements with key stakeholders such as investors, shareholders, board and committee members, lenders, and other regulatory and statutory organizations. He is a qualified Chartered and Cost Accountant.
