Production: The total production of Passenger Vehicles*, Three Wheelers, Two Wheelers, and Quadricycle in Sep 2022 was 2,479,256 units
Domestic Sales:
- Passenger Vehicles* sales were 307,389 units in Sep 2022.
- Three-wheeler sales were 50,626 units in Sep 2022.
- Two-wheeler sales were 1,735,199 units in Sep 2022.
Performance: July-Sep 2022
Production: The total production of Passenger Vehicles**, Commercial Vehicles#, Three Wheelers, Two Wheelers, and Quadricycle in July-Sep 2022 was 7,353,039 units
Domestic Sales:
- Passenger Vehicles** sales were 1,026,309 units in Jul-Sep 2022.
- Commercial Vehicles# sales were 231,880 units in Jul-Sep 2022.
- Three-wheeler sales were 120,319 units in Jul-Sep 2022.
- Two-wheeler sales were 4,673,931 units in Jul-Sep 2022.
Performance: Apr-Sep 2022
Production: The total production of Passenger Vehicles**, Commercial Vehicles#, Three Wheelers, Two Wheelers, and Quadricycle in April-Sep 2022 was 13,679,522 units
Domestic Sales:
- Passenger Vehicles** sales were 1,936,740 units in April-Sep 2022.
- Commercial Vehicles# sales were 456,199 units in April-Sep 2022.
- Three-wheeler sales were 196,612 units in April-Sep 2022.
- Two-wheeler sales were 8,398,464 units in April-Sep 2022.

Commenting on Quarterly sales data, Mr Vinod Aggarwal, President, SIAM said, “There is an improvement seen across the segments in Q2 of 2022-23, compared to the previous year. We are hopeful that the Industry will do well in the month of October, which has two major festivals of Dussehra and Diwali. Recent increase in the prices of CNG Fuel, higher Repo Rates and the Russia-Ukraine conflict are of concern and could impact the market in the coming months.”
Commenting on Industry performance, Mr Rajesh Menon, Director General, SIAM said, “September month has been generally good for industry, as Passenger Vehicle segment has recorded highest ever sales in H1 and Commercial Vehicle segment has started showing trends of better market demand. Off-take of entry level Two-Wheelers and entry level Passenger Vehicles have been of concern especially as the rural demand has not picked up.”
