Simple Energy going to launch a 240-km range Electric Scooter in India

You will be glad to know that, first time to green flag for the launch of maiden electric scooter in India on the eve of Independence Day. In the first phase, the electric scooter will launch in Bengaluru then afterward, in other South Indian cities- Chennai and Hyderabad.

Codenamed Mark 2, it is being speculated, this scooter will become one of India’s longest-range two-wheelers. While the prototype version Mark 1 was ready last year, the beginner has now developed the production version Mark2 prototype-based and disclosed the specification as well.

There will be an expected price range of first-ever electric scooter Rs 1.1-Lakh to Rs 1.2-Lakh.

 The launch will take place in Bengaluru where the startup has its R&D center located and its first factory is also being set up in the city. The first phase in Bengaluru then will be followed in other South Indian cities namely- Chennai and Hyderabad.

The company plans to finally later enlarge the appearance to other cities soon. Information for the Mark 2 electric scooter disclosed by Simple Energy include a 4.8 kWh battery which guaranteed a 240-km range in Eco mode.

Let’s see their speed performance, it can be a ride at the top speed of 100 km/h and 0-50 km/h sprint time of 3.6 seconds. The scooter has a mid-driver motor along with a portable battery and boasts smart such as touchscreen instrument screen with navigation on the go, Bluetooth connectivity etc.

The announcement made in November 2020, Simple Energy’s prototype Mark 1 get an ARAI-sanctioned range of more than 230 km with a 4-kilowatt hour battery pack that has been developed by Simple Energy.

Simple Energy is also planning to raise Series A funding of $15 million in the third quarter of this year. The company looking to establish charging stations in Bengaluru being before the launch.
