Snapdeal, one of India’s major value-focused e-commerce marketplaces, is promoting the National Health Authority’s (NHA) “Health ID” program by utilizing its pan-India reach, particularly in India’s smaller cities and villages.
Snapdeal will leverage its digital presence, including its website, mobile app, and social media profiles, to raise awareness about the plan and provide information on how people can get their own Health ID as part of this campaign.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s (MoHFW) Health ID initiative is part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), which aims to provide the backbone for the country’s integrated digital health infrastructure. From admission to discharge, individuals will be able to access and share their medical records via digital health records, which will eliminate the need for paper. Each user will be given a 14-digit Health ID on a voluntary basis.
The health ID can be simply created with a person’s basic information, such as their name, address, and phone number, as well as their Aadhaar number. A mobile application can be used to link and examine health records. By using the “Health ID,” consumers will be able to connect with a variety of healthcare providers across the ABDM ecosystem.
With all of the information in hand, the pandemic has underlined the necessity of having all of an individual’s health-related data in one place, which helps to make the healthcare process much more efficient and speedy, empowering medical practitioners to give a greater level of care.
Snapdeal is first running a series of adverts to provide information about the scheme’s benefits and a link to NHA’s portal where they may get their Health ID as part of this program. Snapdeal’s social media outlets would also distribute the information in English, Hindi, and other Indian languages.
In an increasingly digital environment, easy access to digital health information would be of tremendous utility to citizens, especially as they go beyond basic healthcare to other health services,” Rajnish Wahi, Senior Vice President, Snapdeal, stated. This effort, we feel, would benefit Bharat and will enable consumers in smaller cities to interact with digital health products from throughout the country. We are pleased to lend our support to the NHA’s work in this area.”
Outside of metro cities, Snapdeal receives more than 86 percent of its orders. Snapdeal’s users have access to a variety of regional interfaces on the app and can communicate with agents in eight Indian languages, thanks to a big proportion of users residing in local cities and towns. The languages include Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Bangla, and Tamil.
Snapdeal collaborates closely with several government departments to assist public-interest activities as part of its ESG initiatives.
Snapdeal collaborated with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in February 2021 to raise awareness about the FSSAI’s Eat Right India Movement, which aims to educate customers about healthy food options and the significance of fortified foods in combating malnutrition.
