Sony is long gone from the smartphone market in India, but its worldwide efforts are still in progress. Sony may now be getting ready for the release of the new Xperia 10 III or Xperia 10 Mark 3 smartphone. Now, new models of this smartphone have emerged online, giving us a first look at the phone. And it’s looking dated. Thick bezels and lack of punch-hole or notch is a throwback to 2018-19 for a phone that could be launched in 2021 when smartphones began with aspect ratios of 18:9. The back of the Sony Xperia 10 III also has a triple-camera system.

These renders, along with the specs, of the Sony Xperia 10 III have been posted on the community website Voice by renowned tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer, who is generally called as OnLeaks. The Xperia 10 III will, according to him, have a rectangular design that looks boxy and almost similar to the Xperia 10 II. The Xperia 10 III’s upper and lower chins are very thick, while those on the sides are noticeably thinner. This design seems completely dated anyway. Rivals of Sony are experimenting with designs of smartphones, going as far as introducing rollable phones.

Without any punch-hole or notch setup, the Sony Xperia 10 III is said to come with a 6.0-inch flat display. Along with the array of sensors that are standard on smartphones, the thick bezel on top will house an 8MP camera. Although there is nothing new about this design, it feels like a cohesive part of the Xperia 10 family. There will be dual-speakers on the front side of the phone. The power button on the side will have a fingerprint sensor, while a USB-C port and even a 3.5mm headphone jack will be accessible on the bottom side. The rendering also indicates that there is a button under the fingerprint sensor that could be used directly to open the camera app.

Talking of the cameras, the rear of the Xperia 10 III will have three sensors. It would be a mix of a predominant 12MP sensor, an 8MP telephoto sensor, and an ultra-wide 8MP sensor, all vertically stacked within a rectangular island. On the Xperia 10 III, the LED flash can be seen sitting above the cameras. There is no detail on the Sony Xperia 10 III battery, but to remember, a 3600mAh battery with 18W fast charging was bundled with the Xperia 10 II. And ultimately, 154.4×68.4×8.3mm will be measured on the Sony Xperia 10 III.

OnLeaks says that in a few weeks, the Sony Xperia 10 III will be launched, but Sony has not said anything about it yet. Sony could also seize the opportunity to finally get a 5G smartphone in the mid-range market with the Xperia 10 III.
