Sportradar to acquire InteractSport to widen their content offering

Sportradar, one of the leading global providers of sports data and entertainment solutions recently announced that they have agreed to acquire InteractSport, also a sports data and technology company that already has partnerships with various companies across a wide range of leading sports organizations that have a great depth and expertise in the field of cricket.

This possession is expected to close by the second quarter of this year, subject to certain regulatory approvals. Cricket is one of the sports that has an enormous fan base with a minimum of two million at a global level. While combining Sportradar’s leading advertise and distribution with InteractSport’s content creation ability as well as subject expertise, Sportradar aims at the opportunity to open a significant growth in the markets at a regional and global level for their customers.

The InteractSport company’s product suite includes a digital sports management platform with high features like mobile applications, electric scoring, fan-friendly web. A world-class data collection tool for cricket with an aim and ability to communicate the cricket stories with fans around the world. They also have an automatic live streaming and gaming production management system for cricket known as ‘FrogBox’.

Presently, the InteractSport company partners with some of the most leading cricket boards such as Cricket Australia and the cricket board of England and Wales. In addition to this, they also have a partnership with Netball Australia and Football Australia.

Carsten Koerl, the CEO of Sportradar Group said that “this possession would provide Sportradar with a great opportunity to widen their data and content writing that they offer. As cricket is one of the world’s famous sport, we believe this is an opportunity for the company to grow especially in the Asian Region. An agreement with a Melbourne based company will be the third acquisition of Sportradar which would also hopefully be fulfilled in 2021. Most recently they also announced the alignment with US-based Synergy Sports. Sportradar is trying to expand its firm across Asia by recently partnering with Asian Football Confederation and K League.
