Rohit Sharma "New Captain of T20 and ODI"

India Vs West Indies is on its 2nd match of the 3-match series. Until now, India was in a lead by 1-0, as the result of the second match is yet to come.

But this series is not just an India Vs West Indies series, it’s much more than that because it marks the debut of Rohit Sharma, as a Captain of the Indian ODI team.

It is now official that Rohit Sharma is the New Captain of both T20I and ODI and it’s safe to say that it is because of his experience and performance both as an Opener and a Skipper. This would not be the first time Sharma has led the Indian team.

As the Vice Captain, he’s led the team several times, in the absence of Kohli, whenever Kohli was injured, on a rest, or for any other reason. Not to forget, Rohit Sharma has led team India in 10 ODIs out of which 8 were recorded as wins. Also, as a stand-in Captain of the T20 format, Team Blue recorded 18 victories out of 22 matches, which were also led by Hitman.

“Both Current and Ex Skippers on the field”

New Captain was welcomed with a Rap song by the rapper RCR (RCR is a Rapper known for a Rap Reality Show MTV’s Hustle) titled “Naya Captain Rohit” on Star Sports.

Star Sports India is known for releasing songs before big series as they did Previously just before ICC Worldcup in 2016 with a song named Kohli Hai by Naezy who’s of the oldest rapper in the (DHH) desihiphop(a fun fact the movie Gully Boy was based around the life of Naezy and Divine, who are considered to be the pioneers of the genre.

Previous In ICC Worldcup 2015. Several rappers were used for the theme song, making it a successful campaign. However, out of those overseas rappers, our Mumbai-based Rapper outshined making a catchy rap on Virat Kohli

This year this chance was given to RCR and he didn’t disappoint he lived to the expectations but still, the song has received a polarizing opinion from the audience where some didn’t like it and we’re comparing it to naezys-rap-about-ICC-world-cup-2016-is-catchy-as-hell, a Twitter user tweeted saying RCR couldn’t live up to the mark, still wishing Rohit all the best of the Captaincy.

Whereas some loved the song very much and found it to be the right fit for the New Skipper, the song paid tribute to the previous Captain Kohli mentioning him as the king, also welcoming the “Naya Captain Rohit”
